The pond is approximately 23 acres with a large area of open water. There is an extensive wetland area on the southern end complete with an active beaver lodge and dam. Waterfowl use the pond as well as deer, moose, and otter.

We swim in the pond, but because there are beavers on the pond, we are careful not to ingest pond water since it may contain parasites. We have never seen any leaches in the pond and we've spent hours swimming in it. Cobb Pond is a natural body of water and as such has a soft bottom. Those of you who are squeamish about swimming in anything but a clear, chlorinated pool may want to choose to just admire its incredible beauty from the surface up.
